Oracle Road Wildlife Crossing Dedication, Tour and Celebration

May 10, 2016, 9:00 am - 11:00 pm

20160322_103215_HDRAfter 16 years of hard work the Oracle Road wildlife crossings are finished and animals are crossing this highway safely.

Join us for the official dedication event on Tuesday, May 10th at 9am.

Please RSVP Here.

We are hosting a press conference announcing the completion, followed by a celebration of the successful Oracle Road wildlife crossings. Pima County has graciously offered to provide funding for this wonderful event, and all our partners will be there.

We’ll meet at the Santa Catalina Catholic Church parking lot adjacent to the wildlife bridge. You will be able to tour the wildlife bridge on a guided walk (a unique, one-time opportunity) and learn more about the project from the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection, Sky Island Alliance, Tucson Audubon Society, Arizona Game and Fish Department, Pima County, Regional Transportation Authority, and other partners. Following the walk, we’ll move down the road to Pusch Ridge Stables (behind the wildlife underpass) to enjoy refreshments and celebrate this success together. There will also be an opportunity to visit the underpass from there. The crossing visits are one-time opportunities before these areas are closed to the public. The reception will include the latest videos and photos from the wildlife cameras!

We hope you can join us to celebrate this milestone for Sky Island Alliance and see this major accomplishment up close.
