TRIP SCHEDULE

  • Friday, 11:00 am: If you need a ride, meet SIA staff at our OFFICE – 406 S. 4th Avenue (at the corner of 14th in Armory Park).
  • Friday, Noon or 5:00 pm: If you are going to drive yourself to the campsite (TBD), directions will be sent to you as the trip approaches. Please feel free to join us either around noon, to work with us on Friday, or after 5:00 pm to join us for the rest of the weekend.
  • Saturday, 7:00 am: Be ready for a rundown of the day’s activities. We’ll then hike to the work site, where we will work for the day with a break for lunch.
  • Sunday, 7:00 am: Continue work through the early afternoon, then pack up and head home. We will try and be back to Tucson by around 6pm.

THE WORK
Our work will focus on building rock structures to control erosion along sections of abandoned trail, and installing native plants to help return the sites to a natural look and function. This work will include lots of lifting, bending, and hiking on uneven terrain. Please be prepared with boots, pants, long sleeves, and gloves, if you have a pair you like (we will also provide these).

CAMP LOCATION & DIRECTIONS (From Tucson)
Directions: Detailed driving directions will be sent to all registrants ahead of the event. All roads to the campsite are suitable for passenger vehicles.

Carpooling is encouraged! When we meet at the SIA office, we’ll group up into a smaller number of vehicles and will help to arrange the carpool spots.
