“I am a member and volunteer of Sky Island Alliance because it is
refreshing to be around people who care enough about our environment to do
something about preserving and protecting it.”
--Sarah Forrester, Member/Volunteer since 2003
Membership Info:
When you join Sky Island Alliance join hundreds of other people in making
a positive connection to the place where you live and the place that you love,
and you have the satisfaction of knowing that that connection yields huge
conservation results. Other membership benefits include:
Newsletters: Members receive our award-winning quarterly newsletter Restoring
Connections. Restoring Connections features in depth analysis on a local issue
such as grazing or water, commentary by regional contributors, reviews of
“hidden gem” restaurants and much more. You’ll also receive our monthly
electronic newsletter, Sky Island Rhythms, keeping you up to date on
programmatic and conservation happenings throughout the region.
Workshops: You’ll receive exclusive invitations to
participate in our annual tracking workshops. Through these workshops you’ll be
trained as a citizen-scientist and your training will be put to use helping Sky
Island Alliance research the movements of key wildlife species throughout the
region.
Field Trips: As a member, you’ll receive advance notice of
volunteer field weekends in places as remote as Sycamore Canyon or as
accessible as Saguaro National Park East. While in the field, you can do
everything from removing invasive species of plants and wildlife to
revegetating and obscuring illegal roads. You may also receive exclusive
invitations to explore the Sonoran Sky Islands and other rugged and pristine regions
of the Sky Islands.
Action Alerts: When you join Sky Island Alliance, you can
expect to take action on important conservation issues. You take action in the
field and you can also take action from your home. With our electronic action
alerts, we keep you informed when a legislator needs calling, a public hearing
or town hall needs attending, or a “letter to the editor” needs writing.
Whether you’re sitting by a blazing campfire at the end of a rewarding day’s
