Guy McPherson
Guy R. McPherson is a professor in the University of Arizonas School of Natural Resources, and he holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology. He is an award-winning researcher, teacher, and mentor.
McPherson received his B.S. from the University of Idahos College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Range Science. His M.S., and Ph.D. degrees were granted by Texas Tech Universitys College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. His postdoctoral work at the University of Georgias Institute of Ecology focused on fire ecology, as did his graduate research.
McPherson's scholarly efforts are devoted to sustainability, and his published works include several books, nearly 100 scholarly articles, and many papers targeted at the general public. He has lectured locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, and frequently delivers addresses on environmental issues to the general public. These public addresses popularize science while demonstrating links between individual lifestyles and societal issues.
